Awe Inspiring, Commanding, Beautiful

The Mogollon Rim is a plateau and cliff-like landscape wonder that rises 7000 feet above sea level in Northern Arizona. The Rim, as it is affectionately called in Arizona, is a destination for campers and hikers, especially in the summer months when the southern part of the state regularly has temperatures in the 110's. I have come to know the Rim because I am such a camper and hiker. You will find me there each summer with my wife and family camping near Woods Canyon Lake, Christopher Creek, and Ponderosa camp grounds.

The wondrous limestone and sandstone cliffs are what draw me into this spectacular landscape. As you can see from Rocks on the Rim 01 and Rocks on the Rim 02, there is a sea of pine trees both growing out of the Rim, and standing for many miles into the distance. In Rocks on the Rim 03 and Rocks on the Rim 04 you can clearly see the lichen on the huge boulders jutting out of the Rim. I hope you enjoy these photos of Rim Country Arizona.
